The Adventures of Molly

Molly lives on a corner lot in the country. Country life is good. Lots of things to do, places to explore, ponds to swim in. Molly, never one to sit idle, takes advantage of all country life has to offer and even finds time for new hobbies. After her morning dip in the pond the other day, Molly embarked on her newly discovered hobby - chasing cars. Oh Molly, you should have checked first! Molly now knows first hand that chasing cars is not a good hobby to embrace. Yup! Molly and a car collided. Car was fine, Molly not so much. Molly came to see us at Caradoc with her back leg hanging at an odd angle, lacerations on her front leg, in severe pain and tail wagging. Nothing gets Molly down. Not even the fact that her femur was fractured in four places and displaced. Surgical repair of Molly's leg was not an option. The only viable alternative was surgical amputation. The surgery was long and arduous, but Molly in her own unique fashion, came through with flying colours and tail wagging. The surgical team headed by Dr. Bassett worked diligently to keep Molly stable and provide her with the best outcome throughout her two and a half hour procedure. The following day, Caradoc's amazing medical team began Molly's recovery process. Controlled feedings, medications, gentle walks, cold compresses every two hours to control swelling, and lots and lots of love and attention. Molly is the best patient we could ever ask for. She is always co-operative and her tail NEVER stops wagging! Unfortunately for us (because we love her so much) but fortunately for her family, Molly has gone back home. The Caradoc staff will miss her and can hardly wait for Molly to come back for her check-up appointments. Molly is already managing incredibly well with three legs. Won't be long before she is back to her morning swims. Wonder what Molly's new hobby will be?
