Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, more commonly known as FIV, is a virus which depletes the number of white blood cells.  This may eventually result in the cat being less able to fight off infection.  But because FIV is a slow acting virus, many cats who are FIV positive are still able to live and enjoy a normal and long life.  Many of these kitties live their lives with no apparent health problems relating to the virus.  Cats who have FIV are best in homes where they are the only cat.  Most times, unless the test is done, you would not recognize an FIV positive kitty.

Caradoc has one such kitty.  Salt has already shown that this virus is not going to interfere with or prevent her from living a long and full life.  She is a one year spayed female who has undergone major orthopaedic surgery to repair a broken leg.  Through it all, Salt has never missed a beat. She has done everything and more to make her life and ours at the clinic a joy each and every day.
